John Sutherland
- John has over 20 years of experience
in the custom framing/fine arts business
and has spent the past 15 years serving
clients through Sutherland
Antique Prints and Sutherland Framing
and Restoration. During that time he
has worked with clients ranging from
local interior design firms to the U.S.
Navy, with the scope of work being equally
diverse, covering everything from contemporary,
large scale corporate jobs to 16th century
maps. One of his areas of specialization
is the historically-correct framing
of antique prints, maps and documents.
John is also an accomplished frame restorer
and gilder, having worked on American
and European frames dating back to the
17th century, and is a member of the
Society of Gilders. If you cannot find
a moulding you feel is appropriate for
your artwork, ask John to create a corner
sample with a custom finish. Some examples
of custom finishes we've created can
be found elsewhere on the site.
